Pedal The Plains is Colorado’s end-of-season cycling bash, capping off our world-class cycling event calendar. Ideal for riders of all speeds and ages, cyclists may choose one of three ways to “Pedal The Plains”; a 3-Day Tour, Century Ride or Family Fun Ride.
The Family Fun Ride is a 5-mile ride fit for all ages. Participants of the Family Fun Ride will begin with a pancake breakfast and then set off for a leisurely 5-mile trip around La Junta that highlights the Koshare Museum, Otero Junior College, Picketwire Players, Potter Park, La Junta Wipeout & Waterslide, Otero Museum and Downtown La Junta. Prizes will be awarded to the best costume and most creative bike. Participants will receive a Family Fun Ride T-shirt, lapel pin, rider bib, pancake breakfast, live entertainment and games and prizes. Locals receive a discounted price: $25 for adults and $15 for children. Walk-on registration begins at 9 a.m. at the City Park on Saturday. Read the rest of this article on lajuntatribunedemocrat.com
