Colorado FFA Foundation
In addition to event proceeds going to The Denver Post Community Foundation, two non-profits that serve the Eastern Plains have been selected to each receive a $7,000 grant. It is an honor to present the Colorado FFA Foundation with this annual grant.
About the Colorado FFA Foundation:
The Colorado FFA Foundation seeks resources – human, financial and in-kind – to support agricultural education in Colorado, including students (Colorado FFA Association, CSU Ag Education), adult agricultural education (CYFEA), agricultural education teachers (CVATA) and alumni (Colorado FFA Alumni).
Integrated into the curriculum of over 100 high schools in Colorado, the Colorado FFA Foundation is the premier co-curricular leadership organization for students ages 14 – 18. Most members of Colorado FFA do not come from a farm or ranch, but have a desire to learn more about agriculture and the inspiring task of providing food and fiber to a growing population. Areas of focus are: premier leadership; personal growth; and career success through agricultural education. The Colorado FFA Foundation is a non-profit organization that is proud to be a charity partner of Pedal The Plains and The Denver Post.
Where are they at Pedal The Plains?
Everywhere! There is a team of FFA cyclists on the road but you will also see the FFA students helping out at these spots:
- Lunch on the route every day on the route: the FFA students will be out there providing a hearty lunch with locally sourced food on each day.
- Clothing Collection: Members of the FFA will be available at the first Aid Station to collect any extra clothes you want to get rid of - like jackets, hats, etc. The weather is cooler to start but heats up so this is a great service offered by the FFA
